i-797C Notice of Action

This is just an easy part. At this stage, what you have to do is endless waiting... 

Well, after submitting your application and making sure your documents has reached USCIS through USPS (UPS or FEDEX) tracking account, the next document you would receive from USCIS is the i-797C notice of action. It's a proof/receipt issued by the USCIS that they received your application. 

Normally, you will get this piece of document one week after your submission. If you still haven't get any response from USCIS more than a week, please call USCIS to track your application to figure out what is happening.


The i-797C notice of action looks like this, in the picture below:


**Notice date: it's the time USCIS filed your application. 
**Receipt number: This is an important number to track your case status in USCIS website. You can lose your i-797C document, but don't forget this number! It helps you to facilitate the expedition in case of emergency.
