Mailing address for OPT Application

Hi, nice to meet you again! Congratulations for completing all of the required materials. At this stage, what will you do is to mail your application to the assigned USCIS office that cooperate with your university ISSS/ISO. In the case for UIUC students, the mailing addresses are as follow. UIUC student cases are usually processed by the USCIS in Nebraska.

Noted that if you are using certified mail service from USPS, please remember to use the service with a given tracking number. So that you can track your package anytime to know whether it is delivered to USCIS office. Cases like missing packages may often occurred.  

Here is a friendly reminder, before sealing the envelope for mailing, please check all the required materials properly. If you missed anything, your application will be rejected and re-submission required. The rejection process takes 10 working days to process. 

Check-list: 

1. Personal Check or money order for $380.00, payable to the “Department of Homeland Security”.
2. 2 photographs. Lightly write your name and SEVIS ID on the back of the photos. Place the photos in a clear Ziploc-type bag.  
3. Photocopy of pages 1& 3 of your new I-20 with the ISSS recommendation for OPT
4. Photocopy of the front and back of your I-94 card
5. Photocopy of the identity page and visa page from your passport, including passport expiration date.
